It would have been great to compare his rushing stats to that of the Spartans Yonus Davis, as both are about the same size--at least in the program. I was impressed with the Mustang defense after reading my Sunday Tribune. Did their play on the field match their stats? What kind of crowd did Cal Poly bring to Spartan Stadium?
Posted by: SLOnative
9/24/2006 9:01 PM

James didn't play because of his high ankle sprain. We sure could have used him though. Hope he's 100% for next week. As far as the crowd, there were plenty of Poly fans to cheer on the team. We were well represented.
Posted by: polyfootballfanfromtheword go!
9/24/2006 9:47 PM

Why did Ellerson sit Matt Brennan after he put up a nice game against Sacramento St.? You've got a young QB with promising talent and you sit him for the biggest game of the year. On top of it, you go w/ an option QB when you're starting RB is on the bench. Makes no sense. Ellerson knows defense, but I now question his offensive decision making skills.
Posted by: FrustratedPolyFan
9/25/2006 1:52 PM

I'm really not that impressed with the offensive playcalling. Cal Poly had the talent available to beat SJSU, even without Noble, but I believe poor coaching choices destroyed the chances for a huge win. Ellerson needs to hire a top-notch offensive coordinator so the offense doesn't destroy the huge opportunities the defense provides.
Posted by: chris Shotwell
9/25/2006 9:18 PM

How about the Offensive lineman?? The unsung heroes of the offense!
Posted by: gopolyBrian Milnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07012699622516572992noreply@blogger.com
